TRIC College Guide

Launching soon

The college guide that tells you what to actually do next.

TRIC College Guide is being written right now: a plain-language walkthrough of choosing a school, building an application that holds up, and paying for it without wrecking your twenties. There is no release date yet — we’d rather publish it finished than rush it — and no sign-up to join. This page is where the announcement will land.

In the meantime, questions about the guide are welcome at [email protected]. Nothing is collected here, and no date is being promised that we can’t keep.

Privacy Policy

Version 1.0 · Last updated 2 November 2026

This policy explains what TRIC Guide (“we”, “us”) collects on this pre-launch page, why, and what you can do about it. It covers this page only, not the guide once it launches (we will publish an updated policy then).

1. Who is responsible

TRIC Guide is a personal, non-commercial project run by one individual in Ohio, USA. That individual is the data controller. Because it is a personal project there is no company, no business address, and no registration number — email is the only contact route: [email protected]. If you are in the EEA/UK we are the controller for your data; if you are in Ohio or another US state, see section 9.

2. What we collect

Nothing through this page. It has no newsletter, signup form, account, comment field, analytics, or advertising pixel. We do not ask visitors for any personal data and we do not build profiles. Specifically:

3. Why we process it (lawful basis)

4. How long we keep it

Server logs: 30 days, then deleted or aggregated. Ordinary email correspondence: 12 months after the conversation ends. If you asked us to note your interest in the guide, your address is kept until the guide launches plus 30 days, or until you ask us to delete it — whichever is sooner. Deletion requests are actioned within 30 days, and backups clear within 90 days.

5. Who we share it with

Only service providers acting on our instructions, under contract, with confidentiality and data-protection terms:

We never sell, rent, or trade personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. Some providers may process data outside your country; where that happens we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses, the UK Addendum, or an adequacy decision.

6. Your rights

Subject to local law, you may access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or port your data, and withdraw consent at any time. Email [email protected] with subject “Privacy request”. We answer within 30 days (or the shorter deadline your law sets). You can also complain to your supervisory authority (EU/UK: your national DPA or the UK ICO; Canada: the OPC; Australia: the OAIC).

7. Cookies and local storage

This page sets no tracking or advertising cookies. Anything it stores is described in the Cookies notice.

8. Security

We use HTTPS in transit, access controls, and least-privilege access to our mailbox and hosting account. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you we notify you and the regulator as the law requires.

9. California and other US state rights

If you live in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, or another state with a comprehensive privacy law: you have the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of sale or sharing, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising, and we have no actual knowledge of selling data of consumers under 16. To exercise a right, email [email protected]; we may need to verify your email address. Authorised agents may submit requests with proof of authorisation. Ohio has not enacted a comprehensive consumer privacy statute, but we apply the same standards to every visitor regardless of where they live.

10. Children

This page is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data. In the EEA/UK the age of digital consent is 16 unless your country set it lower (13 in some). If you believe a child emailed us without parental consent, contact us and we will delete the message and any address attached to it.

11. Changes

We will post any change here with a new version number and date. If a change materially affects how we handle personal data, we will say so here before it applies.

Terms of Use

Version 1.0 · Last updated 2 November 2026

By using this page you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the page.

1. Who we are

This page is run by TRIC Guide, a personal, non-commercial project operated by one individual based in Ohio, USA (“we”, “us”). There is no company, business address, or registration number behind it.

2. What this page is

A pre-launch information page for a planned college guide. Everything here is promotional and subject to change: features, content, pricing, and dates may move or never ship. There is no release date yet and no publication is guaranteed. Nothing on this page is an offer, a contract, or a promise of delivery, and there is nothing to buy or sign up for here — no account is created.

3. Acceptable use

We may block access for anyone who breaches these rules.

4. Emails you send us

If you email us, you confirm the address is yours or one you are authorised to use, and that you are old enough to consent in your country (or have a parent/guardian’s permission). You give us permission to reply, and — only if you ask us to — to email you once when the guide is published. We handle your data as set out in the Privacy Policy.

5. Intellectual property

The page design, text, and logos are owned by TRIC Guide or licensed to us and are protected by copyright and trademark law. You may view the page and print one copy for personal reference. You may not copy, republish, sell, or create derivative works from our content without written permission, other than brief quotation with attribution and a link. Third-party trademarks remain the property of their owners and are used nominatively for identification only.

6. Third-party links

Links to other sites are provided for convenience. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, terms, or privacy practices.

7. Availability

The page is provided “as is” and may be unavailable, interrupted, or withdrawn at any time without notice. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, and we owe no notice period before taking it down or changing it.

8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude all implied warranties, and our total liability arising from your use of this page is limited to USD 50 or the amount you paid us (which is zero), whichever is greater. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or opportunities. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under mandatory consumer law in your country, or liability for fraud, death, or personal injury caused by our negligence, which cannot be excluded.

9. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against claims and costs arising from your breach of these terms or your unlawful use of the page, to the extent your local law permits such an indemnity.

10. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, and the state and federal courts sitting in Ohio have exclusive jurisdiction. That does not affect any right you have to bring a claim in your local consumer court, or any protection given to you by the mandatory consumer law of your country of residence. Before filing, please email [email protected] so we can try to resolve it informally within 30 days. If you are a consumer in the EU/UK, you may also use your local ADR/ombudsman scheme.

11. General

If a provision is unenforceable, the rest survives. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. If the project is ever transferred to someone else, these terms go with it. These terms, the Privacy Policy, and the Cookies notice are the whole agreement about this page. We may update them by posting a new version here with a new date.

Cookies & Storage Notice

Version 1.0 · Last updated 2 November 2026

1. Short version

This page sets no cookies at all — no tracking, analytics, advertising, or preference cookies — and stores nothing in your browser. You will not see a cookie banner here because there is nothing non-essential to consent to. That changes the day we add analytics, embedded video, ads, or affiliate tracking — and at that point we will add a consent banner that blocks non-essential scripts until you opt in (EU/UK ePrivacy and GDPR), and honour Global Privacy Control / “Do Not Track” signals as a valid opt-out where required.

2. What is stored, and why

3. Third-party cookies

None are set by us or by anything this page loads, because it loads nothing external. If a future version embeds a third-party service, that service’s cookies will be governed by its own policy and will be blocked until you consent.

4. How to control cookies

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge all support per-site blocking). Blocking strictly necessary cookies may break parts of the page. To opt out of any future analytics, use the consent banner or email [email protected].

5. If we add analytics later

We will name the provider, the retention period, the legal basis, and whether data leaves your region, and we will prefer cookieless, aggregate-only measurement over per-user tracking.

Accessibility Statement

Version 1.0 · Last updated 2 November 2026

1. Our commitment

We want everyone to be able to read this page and find the information they need, and we aim to conform to WCAG 2.2 Level AA. We treat accessibility as an ongoing requirement, not a one-off.

2. What we have done

3. Known limitations

No known barriers at this time. This statement covers this page only; navigating away from it may leave its scope.

4. Assessment

Last self-assessed 2 November 2026 using keyboard-only testing, axe DevTools, and screen-reader passes in NVDA and VoiceOver. No formal third-party audit has been completed yet.

5. Tell us about a barrier

Email [email protected] with the page and what went wrong. We aim to reply within 5 business days and to fix blocking issues within 30 days. If you need the information on this page in another format (large print, plain text, audio), ask and we will provide it at no cost.

Disclaimers, IP & Copyright

Version 1.0 · Last updated 2 November 2026

1. Educational information, not advice

TRIC College Guide publishes general educational information about college admissions, financial aid, and student life. It is not admissions consulting, legal, tax, immigration, or financial advice, and it is not a recommendation to take on any particular debt, loan, school, or program. Rules, deadlines, and aid formulas change and vary by country, state, and institution — always confirm with the school’s own admissions and financial aid offices, and with a qualified adviser, before you act.

2. No guarantee of outcomes

We make no representation that following our guide will get you admitted anywhere, earn you a scholarship, or produce any particular result. Admissions and funding decisions belong to the institutions.

3. No affiliation

We are an independent publisher. TRIC College Guide is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any college, university, community college system, testing body, scholarship provider, lender, or government department. School names are used for identification and commentary only.

4. Accuracy and external links

Pre-launch content is a draft and may contain errors or omissions. We are not responsible for third-party sites, their availability, or their content, and a link is not an endorsement. If you spot a factual error, email [email protected] and we will correct it.

5. Advertising and affiliate disclosure

This page contains no ads and no affiliate links. When the guide launches it may include affiliate links or sponsored placements; those will be labelled clearly and conspicuously at the point of the link, as required by the FTC Endorsement Guides (16 CFR Part 255), the ASA CAP Code, and equivalent rules, and they will never change our editorial judgement or the price you pay.

6. Intellectual property

© 2026 TRIC Guide. All rights reserved. “TRIC College Guide” and the TRIC logo are the name and mark of this project. No trademark registration is claimed. You may quote short excerpts with attribution and a link; you may not copy the guide wholesale, republish it, or train commercial models on it without written permission. All third-party trademarks are the property of their owners and are used only to refer to those owners’ goods and services.

7. Copyright complaints (DMCA / notice-and-takedown)

If you believe content here infringes your copyright, send a notice to our designated agent containing: (a) your physical or electronic signature; (b) identification of the copyrighted work; (c) the exact URL and enough detail for us to locate the material; (d) your name, address, telephone, and email; (e) a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is unauthorised; and (f) a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and you are the owner or authorised to act for the owner.

Where to send it: [email protected]. This is a personal project, not a registered online service provider, so we do not claim the statutory safe-harbour formalities of 17 U.S.C. § 512 — but we act on any notice containing the items above: we remove or disable access to the material, tell whoever posted it where that applies, and accept a counter-notice. We also respond to equivalent notices from EU and UK rights holders.

8. Severability of this notice

This notice forms part of the Terms of Use. If any part is unenforceable, the remainder stands.
